Getting from Lekki to Sangotedo: Transport Options and Drive Times
The Lekki–Epe Expressway corridor is the spine of this trip, and choosing how you travel it shapes your whole day.
The Route Itself: What the Lekki–Epe Expressway Really Feels Like
Options Compared: Keke, Bus, Ride-Hailing and Private Car
My recommendation for a first visit: book a hotel in Lekki Phase 1 or Ikota and use ride-hailing for the Sangotedo leg, rather than staying in Sangotedo and commuting west for beach access. Landmark Beach, the Lekki Conservation Centre and the restaurants around Admiralty Way sit closer to the western end, and Sangotedo is better for Novare Lekki Mall, the Awoyaya residential belt and access onward to Ibeju-Lekki. If your itinerary is mall-and-school-visit heavy, reverse it and stay east.

Questions, answered
How long does Lekki to Sangotedo take?
Twenty to 25 minutes off-peak along the Lekki–Epe Expressway, and 45 to 75 minutes during weekday rush hours. The Ikota toll gate approach and the Novare Lekki Mall stretch are the usual delays.
Is there a direct bus from Lekki to Sangotedo?
Shared minibuses cover the corridor but often require a change at Jakande or Awoyaya. Ride-hailing is simpler for visitors, and a hotel-arranged car removes the guesswork entirely.
Where should I stay for a Sangotedo trip?
Lekki Phase 1 or Ikota suits most itineraries, with ride-hailing for the eastern leg. Choose Sangotedo itself if your plans centre on Novare Lekki Mall and the Ibeju-Lekki corridor.
