How we picked these family-friendly hotels

How we picked: We started by identifying hotels in Reykjavik that, according to their own listings, offer family rooms or facilities for children. Each property was then ranked by its star rating, followed by its guest rating. To ensure fairness, hotels with ratings based on very few reviews were ranked lower. This method highlights accommodations that are both family-friendly and well-rated by guests, giving you a reliable starting point for your family trip to Reykjavik.

Tips for family stays in Reykjavik

Book family rooms early, as they are often limited in number and in high demand, especially during peak travel seasons.

Check the hotel's amenities for child-friendly features such as cribs, high chairs, or play areas, and confirm availability before you arrive.

Consider apartment-style accommodations for extra space and the flexibility to prepare meals, which can be a lifesaver for families with young children.

Reykjavik's weather can change quickly, so pack layers and plan indoor activities; many family-friendly hotels are centrally located near museums and pools.

Ask about family-friendly policies at the time of booking, such as check-in times, extra beds, and any services for children, to ensure a smooth stay.
